Spring time is the best time to pull out your floral prints, flowy dresses, and all your light summer favorites. It’s also a great time for Mother’s Day, outdoor birthday celebrations, and graduations. For these, you want to find the perfect gift!

This spring, consider checking out some of the Coastal Bend’s local boutiques! You might be surprised at the fantastic things you can find.

I randomly selected a few boutiques in town to check out, and I am glad I did! I found some hidden gems that everyone should know about.

The first on this adventure was Shannon’s Distinctive Fashion located on 6646 S Staples Street #126. As soon as you walk in, you will immediately notice the fun prints and colors! The owner, Shannon Bantkowiak, was extremely welcoming and explained she has been doing this for 19 years. She said, “I love what I do, and I love making people feel good about themselves.”

Bantkowiak has unique styles that are not typically found in department stores. She believes in “comfort and style” and wants shoppers to know that they can have both. If you are looking for some of the hottest trends with comfort and style, Shannon’s Distinctive Fashion is a great local boutique.

A great new place for gift ideas is The Blue Dahlia Boutique Barber/Salon, on 2760 Santa Fe Street. Dahlia Martinez and her daughter Jackie Keiper opened up the boutique/salon because they thought the combination of the two was a great idea. “It’s a great way to get your hair done, get a gift, or find a new outfit. We have a little bit of everything,” said Dahlia.

Shoppers can get their hair trimmed and styled, and find anything from books and children’s toys to purses and accessories, as well as apparel, travel mugs, and stationary. What don’t they have here? They are a family owned business that’s growing, and they will make you feel like family when you stop by!

This energetic team can even apply custom business logos. They will take the client’s idea, greeting, image, or logo, and can create customized shirts, balloons, temporary party tattoos, tote bags, and more. “We can design anything with a logo, a name, or the name of the event. We love designing with the client and whatever the client wants,” said Adrian. You can find Making Moments Together online and on Facebook. They will meet you locally and help take your idea and make it into a reality.
